Tyler Brown, a 2010 Bethel graduate, competed in men's basketball for the Pilots. Brown helped the Pilots to an NCCAA National championship in 2007, followed up by NAIA nationals appearances in 2008, 2009 and a spot in the NAIA Final Four in 2010. The Pilots' overall record during Brown's career was an astounding 111 wins and just 33 losses.

A force in the Mid-Central Conference, Brown was a four-time All-Conference selection, earning honorable mention in 2007, 2nd team in 2008 & 2009 and 3rd team in his senior season of 2010. Brown was a key player in the Pilots back-to-back conference crowns (and tournaments) in the 2008 and 2009 seasons.

A local product of Penn High School, Tyler was the definition of what the ideal Bethel basketball player has always been: a fierce competitor who was unselfish on offense, while bringing intensity on defense and attacking the glass at both ends of the court. Simply put, Tyler made his teammates better. Upon graduation, Tyler left his mark in the Pilots record book 14 times, including 11th in career points with 1,982 and 17th in total rebounds with 784. He also remains on the books in several blocked shot and rebound marks. For his career, Tyler averaged 14.9 ppg and 5.9 rebound per game.
