He was named the 2011 NCCAA Indoor National Championship Athlete of the Meet—the first in men's program history—and was a two-time NCCAA Outdoor National Championship Athlete of the Meet (2010-2011). He won the 2009 Indoor 400m individual title, was a leg in the 4x400m NCCAA Indoor National Championship winning relay, and won the 2011 NCCAA Indoor Triple Jump individual title.

On the outdoor side, Boyd won NCCAA individual titles in the 100m (twice), 200m (twice), the 4x100m relay, long jump, and triple jump. He helped the Pilots to their first two program NCCAA National Championships in 2009 (indoor and outdoor).

In the Crossroads League, Boyd was an 11-time All-League performer with eight individual league titles, including graduating as a three-time defending conference champion in the Triple Jump. He was on the 2009 Crossroads League Outdoor Champion team.
