Bethel Athletics Hall of Fame
Romeo graduated in 1986 with a B.A. degree in communications. Rick was a four-year letter winner on the baseball team. He was a member of the 1986 baseball team that won the NCCAA National Championship – Bethel’s first national championship.
He was a two-time NAIA Academic All-American ('85, '86). In 1986, Rick was a captain and named (co)-Most Valuable Player. He was named to the Mid-Central All-Conference Team twice ('85, '86). Rick currently holds two baseball records: Single Season Walks – 58 ('86) and Career Walks with 121.
Upon graduation in 1986, Rick was 1st in Single Season Runs Scored with 51 ('86); 1st in Single Season Walks with 58 ('86); 3rd in Single Season Walks with 34 ('85); 1st in Career On-Base Percentage with .550; 1st in Career Runs Scored with 121 and 1st in Career Walks with 121.
During his last two years at Bethel, Rick served as the assistant student spiritual life director his junior year, and then became the student spiritual life director his senior year.
