MARION, Ind. --- Four Lady Pilots had top-10 finishes after day one of the Crossroads League Championship on Thursday, with
Alecia Parker leading the way with a third-place performance. The team sits in eighth of the 10 competing conference teams, above US Highway 20 Cup rival Goshen, who is in ninth.
Parker peaked in the third attempt, with a 13.03-meter mark, which placed her third behind Indiana Wesleyan's Meredith Devries (13.14 meters) in second and Mount Vernon Nazarene's Shyanne Moser (13.16 meters), who won the event.
Gabrielle Zeilenga finished fifth in the Long Jump with a 5.55-meter mark to round out the field event highlights, but two Pilots competed in the Heptathlon that completed most of their events on day one.
Camden Chellis sits seventh after three of the six events, with an eighth-place finish in the 100-hurdles, seventh in the high jump, seventh in the shot put, and eighth in the 200-meter.
Haylie Skripac is in eighth with a seventh-place finish in the 100-hurdles, no placement in the high jump, eighth in the shot put, and seventh in the 200-meter.
Brianna Hooton placed eighth in the 200-meter with a 25.48, and Nicanta Smith finished eighth in the 100-meter at a 12.36.
The Pilots finish the Crossroads League Championship in Marion, Ind., on May 2, at 9:00 a.m. on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan.
