COLUMBIA, S.C. --- On the second day of the NCCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championship, the Bethel Pilots sit in third-place behind second-place Jessup (30 pts) and the leader, Grace College (44 pts), at Columbia International University on Thursday.
Gabrielle Zeilenga took runner-up in the Long Jump, with a 5.32-meter jump to finish behind Jayde Ullenbruch by .01 meters in the night's final event, but scored eight points for the Pilots.
Ariel Manns placed sixth in the High Jump after clearing 1.52 meters, and
Maiah Bargesser finished seventh, clearing 1.47 meters.
The Shot Put rounded out the field event highlights, with
Alecia Parker placing 10th, throwing 35.23 meters, and
Sydney Rice finishing 13th with a 33.52-meter throw.
Haylie Skripac finished the Heptathlon with a final score of 2765 for seventh place after running a 28.87 in the 200-meter, jumping 4.60 meters in the Long Jump, throwing 21.18 meters in the Javelin, and running a 3:01.12 in the 800-meter. Camden Cheillis placed 10th with a 2113 final score and running a 29.30 in the 200-meter, jumping 4.17 meters in the Long Jump, throwing 25.89 meters in the Javelin, and running a 3:49.93 in the 800-meter.
Anna Enderle ran a 39:51.76 in the 10,000 meters for fifth place in the distance highlights, followed by the 4x800 Relay team of
Emma Maxwell,
Addison Curtis,
Hannah Frump, and
Elaina Schwendenmann finishing fifth with a 9:58.62.
Nicanta Smith made the final in the 100-meter dash, running a 12.54 for sixth place, and made the final in the 200-meter dash with a seventh place 25.75; the finals will be on the final day of the NCCAA Outdoor National Championship on Friday, May 9.
Vladlena Klymova made the 100-meter hurdles final on Friday after running a 15.71 for sixth place, but
Alyssa Sloop just missed the cut, with a 16.53 for ninth place to be the first one out.
The final day of the NCCAA Track and Field Outdoor Championship is on Friday, May 9, with the Women's 5,000-meter run kicking off the running events at 8:30 a.m. and the Women's Javelin starting at 10:00 a.m. at Columbia International University.
