ALLENDALE, Mich. --- Gabrielle Zeilenga hit two NAIA Qualifying Marks in a great day for the Bethel Pilots Women's Track and Field team that collected 13 NCCAA Qualifying Marks among those who competed at Grand Valley State on Saturday.
Zeilenga hit the NAIA 'A' mark in the Long Jump with a 5.88-meter jump and climbed the ranks to no. 7 and won the event. She also hit the NAIA 'B' Mark with a 3.66-meter jump in the Pole Vault and finished third in the event.
Sophia Sumer took second in the Pole Vault after tying Zeilenga's 3.66-meter jump to also hit the NAIA 'B' Mark, and Grace Conway placed eighth with a 3.36-meter mark and holds the no. 35 spot in the NAIA rankings.
The 4x100 team of Sydney Rodgers, Brianna Hooton, Nicanta Smith, and Grace Constable took second out of three relay teams with a 49.23 but finished under NCAA Division II Ferris State, who reached no. 56 in the Division II rankings.
Emmaleigh Smith placed top 15 in the 1500-meter with a 5:25.20 time for 14th place, and Hooton reached a season-best 1:00.85 in the 400-meter and placed 10th with an NCCAA Qualifying Mark. Vladlena Klymova hit the NCCAA Mark in the 400-meter with a 1:01.37 for 12th place.
Haylie Skripac hit a season best in the Long Jump with a 4.65-meter jump and a 16th-place finish, and the NCCAA Time in the 100-hurdles for third-place.
The Pilots 100-meter had two NCCAA quals with Sydney Rodgers' 18th-place 12.92 and Luisana Alonso's 19th-place 12.99. Sydney Rice placed eighth with a 12.74-meter NCCAA Qualifying Mark, and Alecia Parker threw an 11.69 for 12th-place.
The Crossroads League Championship is up next for the Pilots May 1-2 at Indiana Wesleyan in Marion, Ind.
