CEDARVILLE, Ohio --- Three NCCAA National Champions were crowned at the NCCAA Indoor Track and Field National Championship at Cedarville University on day two of the meet, and the Pilots were the runner-up in the team standings under the host Cedarville University.
Brianna Hooton won the 400-meter with a 59.78 to earn All-American status along with being the champion of the event by a small margin. Alecia Parker won the Shot Put with a 13.45-meter mark and earned All-American status, and Gabrielle Zeilenga was the third Pilot champion in the Long Jump with a 5.65-meter mark and All-American status.
The 4x800 Relay of Addison Curtis, Elaina Schwendenmann, Emaleigh Smith, and Emma Maxwell placed fourth with a 10:24.88.
Nicanta Smith finished eighth in the 60-meter with an 8.07, while Vladlena Klymova placed 7th in the 60-hurdles. Klymova also placed fifth in the 400-meter with a 1:01.19.
Hannah Frump finished sixth in the 800-meter with a 2:26.17, while Hooton placed eighth in the 200-meter with a 26:51.
In the 4x400 Meter Relay, Vladlena Klymova, Gabrielle Zeilenga, Luisana Alonso, and Brianna Hooton took runner-up in the event with a 4:07.36, under Cedarville's team that ran a 4:04.38. The relay team also earned NCCAA All-American status for finishing top three in the event.
Sydney Rice placed sixth in the Shot Put with a 12.28-meter mark.
The Pilots prepare for the Crossroads League Indoor Track and Field Championship in Upland, Ind. from Friday Feb. 14 to Saturday Feb. 15.
