ADRIAN, Mich. --- The Bethel Women's Bowling Team wrapped up a competitive day at the SHU Halo Open, hosted by Siena Heights University at Lenawee Recreation in Adrian, Mich.
The tournament followed the same format as the men's division, featuring 10 Baker games followed by three team and individual games. The Pilots finished the day fourth out of four varsity teams with a total pinfall of 3,542, just behind Adrian College (3,602), Grace College (3,856), and MSU (3,960).
Three Bethel bowlers placed inside the top 10 individually, led by
Miley Phillips, who tied for 5th place (479) to earn her first All-Tournament Team honor. She was followed by
Lillian Siwka (8th, 475) and
Rachel Miedema (10th, 449).
Coach
Chris Adams was encouraged by the team's perseverance, saying, "The ladies battled some adversity throughout the day and chased some transition. They have some positive takeaways going into tomorrow."
The Pilots will compete against Adrian College tomorrow, looking to finish the weekend strong.
