MISHAWAKA, Ind. ---Bethel University welcomes Joel Rennaker as Assistant Director of Athletics for Communications. Rennaker will oversee promotion of Bethel University's 20 plus athletic teams, in addition to playing a crucial role in game day operations.

Director of Athletics Jason Lewkowicz shared, "Joel is going to be a tremendous addition to our athletics leadership team at Bethel University. His combination of mission fit, experience, and versatility will set our Athletic Communications team up for success as they celebrate our student-athletes and tell the story of the Pilots!"

Rennaker comes to Bethel after an impressive four-year stint at Indiana Wesleyan, where he served as a Sports Information Graduate Assistant (2022-2024) before his promotion as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications (2024-2026).

Rennaker shared, "I am excited about the opportunity to serve the Bethel University community and for what the Lord has planned here. I want to thank Indiana Wesleyan for preparing me for this opportunity as well as Jason Lewkowicz and Christopher Hess for their leadership through this process!"

Within his work at IWU, Rennaker placed first in the NAIA-SIDA Publication Contest for Best Website in two consecutive years (2024 and 2025).
