ASHEVILLE, N.C. ---Junior Gabbi Zeilenga furthered her stellar Bethel Track and Field career on Wednesday, placing sixth in the pole vault at the 2026 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships. The DeMotte, Ind. standout recorded a mark of 3.83m in a field of sixteen competitors at the Karl Straus Track on the campus of UNC Asheville.
Zeilenga reflected on her accomplishment, sharing, "It is an honor to be back on the podium after a season of injury and uncertainty. Praise the Lord for this gift!"
Joining Zeilenga on the Women's side was
Tanique Taylor, who finished 28th in the 100m Hurdle Prelims with a time of 15.01s.
Highlighting the Men's Team efforts were the 4x100 group of
Mark Brissau,
James Gill,
Marcus Smith, and
Lamarr Williams who recorded a new season best (40.64s) to finish 15th in the prelims ahead of fellow NCCAA members Campbellsville (16th, 40.74s) and Warner (17th, 40.75s).
Williams narrowly missed qualifying for the 100m finals, taking 11th in Thursday's Prelim with a 10.5s showing. In Wednesday's 200m Prelim, Williams placed 14th with a 21.27s time.
