Box Score MISHAWAKA, Ind. — The Bethel Men's Volleyball Team captured the WHAC Tournament Title with a 3-1 (25-19, 25-20, 23-25, 25-17) victory over Indiana Tech on Saturday, punching their ticket to the NAIA National Tournament.
The Pilots set the tone early, taking the first two sets 25-19 and 25-20 behind an efficient offensive performance. Indiana Tech responded in set three with a 25-23 win, but Bethel answered in the fourth, closing out the match 25-17 to secure the conference crown.
Bethel hit an impressive .371 as a team, led by
Christian Woumnga with a match-high 20 kills while hitting .485.
Thomas Dunkley added 17 kills and 13 digs, while
Ling Pak Him contributed 14 kills.
Santana Roybal-Benson showcased seven kills on a .778 hitting percentage.
Defensively, the Pilots recorded 50 digs, with
Eduardo Kerkoski leading the back row with 9 digs. At the net, Bethel made its presence felt throughout the match with 11, including the blocking efforts of
Christian Woumnga and
McGwire Eigenrauch to seal the championship victory.
Head Coach Jose Viera Cerame shared, "First conference tournament championship in program history feels great and unreal. I am very proud of how my boys bounced back after losing to Indiana Tech last Saturday. It was very electric today in the Goodman Gymnasium. Who thought we couldn't do it?
