ALLENDALE, Mich. ---The Bethel Women's Track & Field Team competed on Friday at the GVSU Bill Clinger Classic, in the Kelly Family Sports Center.
In the 200m,
Nicanta Smith claimed 19th Place in an intense field of 86 athletes, recording a season best of 26.40s.
Anna Enderle's performance in the 3000m (39th, 10:53.32) resulted in a new NAIA Top 100 time. Enderle now holds the 84th fastest time in the league.
Smith and Enderle each shattered the NCCAA Qualifying Standards for their respective events (27.75s, 11:30). The NCCAA National Championship is set for February 13-14 at Cedarville University.
In the field category,
Gabrielle Zeilenga showcased a top five finish in the pole vault (3.57m), tying with NCAA Division 1 Central Michigan's Riley Nielsen. The junior also claimed 11th place in the long jump with a mark of 5.10m.
Alecia Parker took second place in the shot put, with a 12.84m mark. Parker also posted a new personal record in the weight throw (13.15m), placing 14th out of 38 athletes who scored.
Ariel Manns recorded a 16th place finish in the high jump (1.52m), tying with Grace College's Lani Calizo.
The Bethel Pilots will next compete at the Olivet Nazarene University Invitational on Friday, January 30. The event will commence at 3 PM CST and 4 PM EST.
