ALLENDALE, Mich. ---The Bethel Men's Track and Field Team competed at the Bob Eubanks Open, hosted by Grand Valley State University, on Saturday at the Kelly Family Sports Center,
Lamarr Williams won the 60m, taking first in a field of nine athletes with a time of 6.78 seconds. His performance surpassed the NAIA "B" standard by two-hundredths of a second (6.8s). Williams also finished third in the Men's 200m (22.06s), behind the Chapa brothers of Grand Valley State.
Joshua Harmon also made in appearance in the 60m (6.98s) and 200m (22.09s), taking fifth in both events.
In the field category,
Joshua Handschu recorded a third place finish with a 15.66m showing in the weight throw.
The Pilots will soon face Grand Valley State again on Friday, Jan. 23. The Lakers will host the GVSU Bill Clinger Event with field events commencing at 1 PM, and running events to follow at 1:30 PM.
