ELKHART, Ind. --- The Bethel Pilots sit in sixth and are neck and neck with Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) which holds fifth with 170 points compared to the Pilots' 169.5 after the third day of the NAIA Swim and Dive National Championship Friday.
Jaylyn Harrison earned All-American honors after posting a 1:52.83 time in the 200-yard Freestyle. This time landed her in fourth place.
Harrison crushed the previous Pilot record of 1:54.76, which was set by her teammate Josefina Gonzalez on Mar. 1, 2023 (1:54.76).
Dominique Van Vuure finished third in the 200 Free B Heat (1:55.61) just behind Keiser swimmer Timea Aspegren, who beat her by just a few tenths of a second (1:55.15).
Eliza Nuet also received All-American recognition, placing eighth after her 57:31 100 Yard Butterfly finish. With this time, Nuet set a new school record for the event. The previous Bethel record was set by Kayla Logeais with a time of 1:01. 17 (Dec. 2, 2021).
Ella Sherwood also competed in the 100 Fly and tied for second place in the B Heat with a time of 57.24.
Maria Suarez finished fifth in the 400-yard Individual Medley B Heat, with a time of 4:39.58.
Teagan Risher concluded the 100-yard breaststroke with a 1:07.32 finish in the B Heat.
Pilots Aixa Recchioni, Teagan Risher, Eliza Nuet, and Jaylyn Harrison finished sixth in the 400 Yard Medley Relay with a 3:54.78 time and All-American honors. They broke the previous school record of 3:59.43, set on Mar. 1, 2023.
Nick Bohm took runner-up for the first time in the NAIA 1-meter Dive with a 259.70 under Keiser's Juan Gonzalez at 305.20. Teammate Owen Fleck placed fifth in the event, scoring 199.65.
The Final day of the NAIA Swim and Dive National Championship kicks off at 9 a.m. at the Elkhart Health and Aquatics Center.
