Pilots secure top five finish in Crossroads League Competitive Cheer Championships

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio ---The Bethel Competitive Cheer Team placed fifth out of eight teams in the Crossroads League Championship at Mount Vernon Nazarene University on Saturday.

The top five finish comes after the Pilots won a CCA National Championship title in the Small Coed Traditional Division.

Andrew Greene served as a standout for the Pilots, taking first place on the first team for tumbling.

The competition scores were as follows:

Finish Team  Score
1 Indiana Wesleyan 87.72
T2 Marian 81.99
T2 St. Francis 81.99
4 Taylor 81.79
5 Bethel 74.87
6 Spring Arbor 74.31
7 Mount Vernon 68.85
8 Huntington 55.82

Given that only the first place finish advances to the NAIA National Cheerleading Championship, the Pilots have now concluded a remarkable season.

Head Coach Lexie Sturgill shared, "We finished our season strong with two competitions hitting with zero deductions! It was such a fun time with the team. God has blessed this team and program. We cannot wait to see all He has in store for next year. All glory to Him!"
