ALLENDALE, Mich. --- The Bethel Pilots had 14 NCCAA Qualifying Standards met and one NAIA 'B' Standard set by
Alecia Parker in the Women's Shot Put Invite event that featured some of the higher ranked throwers that were registered on Saturday at Grand Valley State's Bob Eubanks Open.
Parker took fifth in the event and improved to eighth in the NAIA after throwing a 13.54 on her third attempt that met the NAIA 'B' Standard and the NCCAA Standard.
Sydney Rice took fourth in the Shot Put event with a 12.14-meter throw for the NCCAA Standard.
Ariel Manns took seventh in the High Jump with a 1.50-meter mark for the NCCAA Standard, and
Sophia Sumer tied for sixth with
Gabrielle Zeilenga in the Pole Vault for the NCCAA Standard at 3.45 meters. Zeilenga also took seventh in the Long Jump with a 5.28-meter mark to hit the NCCAA Standard.
Anna Enderle took 20th in the 800-meter with a 2:31.66 and rose to 72nd in the NAIA rankings and hit the NCCAA Qualifying Standard along with hitting the NCCAA Standard in the mile, finishing 36th with a 5:28.19.
Hannah Frump placed ninth in the 600-meter with a 1:48.22 to rise in the NAIA rankings to 64th, and
Addison Curtis rose to 80th in the 600-meter NAIA ranking after posting a 1:52.56, 12th-place finish.
Brianna Hooton and Nicanta Smith met the NCCAA Standard in the 60-meter dash, with a 14th and 23rd place finish respectively. Hooton ran an 8.07 and Smith an 8.14.
Vladlena Klymova placed 12th in the 60-hurdles at 9.80 for an NCCAA Standard, and
Alyssa Sloop had a PR in the 60-hurdles with a 15th-place, 10.19 finish.
To end the night, the 4x400 relay team of Hooton, Klymova, Zeilenga, and Smith ran a 4:16.13 to place ninth in the event.
The Pilots prepare to return to Grand Valley State's Kelly Family Sports Center for the GVSU Bill Clinger Classic on Friday, Jan. 24 at 1 p.m.
