MISHAWAKA, Ind. --- The Bethel University Esports teams started conference play with a few wins last week.
League of Legends Won 2-0 vs. Alma College in the GLEC and 1-0 vs. Jamestown College but lost 1-0 to Oklahoma City University in the NECC. Freshman Cody Copelan led the team in Kills vs. Alma with 30. Sophomore Tyler Moroni had 27 assists in a win over Alma.
Super Smash Bros. lost 2-1 to Trine in GLEC play. Freshman Blake Wehlage led the team with a 4-2 record and 10 stocks taken.
Rocket League won 3-0 vs. Central Methodist and lost 3-1 to Illinois in NECC play.
Valorant Won 2-0 vs. Albion College and lost 2-0 to Trine and St. Xavier 2-0 in GLEC. Sophomore Nate Kropiewnicki led the team with 43 kills and 15 assists in the win over Albion.
Director of Esports Dan Wort said, "The League of Legends team split its first two NECC pre-season matches while the Rocket League team split. Smash Bros. had an extremely close match vs. Trine but fell in the best of 3 series. Valorant had a busy week, with three matches in the GLEC conference, dropping the first two but picking up their first win vs. Albion."
