MISHAWAKA, Ind. --- Mixed results for Bethel University Esports teams in last week's play, with Super Smash Bros. highlighting the week.
League of Legends lost 2-0 to York College in NECC, beat St. Xavier (Ill.) 2-1, and lost to Valpo 2-0 in GLEC. Senior Luke Wilson tallied nine assists, eight kills, and 1.89 KDA against York College. Freshman Cody Copeland had a great game against St Xavier with 19 kills, 10 assists, and an incredible KDA of 29.
Valorant took down Mass Bay Community College 2-1 in ECAC but lost 2-0 to Alma College in GLEC.
Rocket League was defeated 4-3 by Virginia Wesleyan University in ECAC.
Rocket League JV beat Marist College 4-0 in ECAC. Senior Noah Hunt led the way with four goals and five saves during the game.
Super Smash Bros. Lost 2-1 to Brooklyn College in ECAC and beat Concordia University 2-0 in GLEC. Super Smash Bros. JV lost 2-0 to Delaware in ECAC.
Director of Esports Dan Wort said, "We had a lot of matches this week with mixed results. While we went 4-6 overall, our Smash Bros locked up the #4 seed in GLEC playoffs with a victory over Concordia, and League of Legends secured the #7 seed with a win over St. Xavier. Also, both Smash Bros Varsity and JV teams locked up playoff berths in ECAC with wins. And our Valorant team stayed undefeated and in 1st place in their ECAC division with their 2-1 win over Mass Bay Community College."
