MISHAWAKA, Ind. – Bethel women's soccer answered every Mount Vernon Nazarene response with one of its own, holding on for a 3-2 win Saturday at Morey Field behind a two-goal game from Thalyta Martins.

Bethel struck first in the 21st minute, as Thalyta Martins buried a Hannah Thomas assist for her first goal of the game to make it 1-0. Mount Vernon Nazarene answered right before the break, with Aubrey Keuffer leveling the match at 1-1 in the 44th minute off a corner kick sequence. The second half turned into a shootout in a five-minute span: Lilly NewBurn put Bethel back ahead in the 78th minute on a Lisa Droz-Vincent assist, only for Mount Vernon's Emmie Hoffman to tie it right back up 17 seconds later. Martins settled it for good in the 80th minute, finishing off her second Droz-Vincent assist of the day to make it 3-2. Isabella Ferreira made three saves down the stretch to close out the win, and Bethel improved to 1-1 in Crossroads League play.
