UPLAND, Ind. – Bethel women's soccer opened Crossroads League play with a 2-0 loss at Taylor on Wednesday at Turner Stadium, despite a strong second-half push from the Pilots.

Isabella Ferreira made four saves in a scoreless first half, keeping Bethel level despite Taylor out-shooting the Pilots 6-1. Taylor broke through in the 51st minute on a goal from Campbell Massey, then doubled the lead in the 59th minute as Leah McQuade finished off a Lauryn Dolvin assist to make it 2-0. Bethel pushed back the rest of the way, with Thalyta Martins and Hannah Thomas combining for four second-half shots on frame, but Taylor keeper Ava Callaway held firm for the shutout. Ferreira closed with eight total saves in the loss.
