INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. ---The RV Bethel Pilots (5-2, 2-2) fell 6-1 to the No. 16 Marian University Knights (10-8, 4-2) on Wednesday in Crossroads League action.
In doubles play, Marian claimed the point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2.
Dimitar Berdankov and
Lukas Slivar dropped a tight match at No. 1 (7-6(7-1)), while
Aidyn Batyrbekov and
Santiago Flores fell at No. 2 (6-2). Bethel earned a win at No. 3, where
Ostap Talama and
Atanas Ivanov secured a 6-3 victory.
In singles, Bethel's lone point came from
Atanas Ivanov at No. 3, who won a three-set battle (6-4, 2-6, 7-6(7-7)).
Dimitar Berdankov fell at No. 1 (6-4, 6-4), and
Aidyn Batyrbekov was defeated at No. 2 (6-4, 6-2).
Lukas Slivar dropped a three-set match at No. 4 (6-2, 7-5).
Ostap Talama pushed to a third set at No. 5 before falling (6-3, 3-6, [10-7]).
Santiago Flores rounded out singles play with a loss at No. 6 (6-1, 6-3).
The Bethel Pilots will look for their next victory on Saturday, April 4 as they face the Huntington University Foresters (12-3, 3-0) at Ward Baker Park. First serve is set for 1 PM.
