MUNCIE, Ind. ---The Bethel PIlots competed at Ball State's We Fly Challenge on Friday and Saturday at the Briner Sports Complex.
On Saturday, Lamarr Willams won two individual events in the 100m (10.78s) and 200m (21.81s), before claiming gold in the 4x100m Relay (41.03s) alongside
Mark Brissau,
Joshua Harmon, and
James Gill.
In the 100m,
James Gill (10.88s) and
Jace Woods (10.93s) followed Williams with a second and third place finish.
Joshua Harmon claimed fifth (11.08s),
Mark Brissau took 17th (11.35s) and
Marcus Smith took 18th (11.35s).
Friday was highlighted by
Anthony Maxwell, who showcased a third place finish in the Men's Javelin with a mark of 52.25m, ahead of an NCAA D1 entry from Miami of Ohio.
Owen McGriff (14th, 32.12m) and Phillip Harris (16th, 27.89m) also made a showing in the javelin.
Jack Jewett recorded a top-ten finish in Friday's high jump with a mark of 1.85m.
Christopher Korthuis followed at 17th (1.75m).
Jewett also placed tenth in the 110m Hurdles with a time of 16.24s, while
Austin Mason took 14th (16.75s). Mason also placed 7th in the 400m Hurdles (57.79).
Korthuis also surpassed entries from Indiana Wesleyan and the University of Indianapolis in Saturday's long jump with an 18th place finish (5.88m).
Aaron Douglass placed fourth in the Men's 3000m Steeple with a time of 10:12.35.
Several Pilots competed in the 800m, including
Andrew Golba (37th, 2:04.37),
Elijah Poorman (39th, 2:04.46),
Zachary Maendel (42nd, 2:05.85),
Devyn Clements (46th, 2:07.17), and
Benjamin Keller (48th, 2:14.99).
In the 400m,
Noah Jarvis led the Pilots with a 17th place finish (50.55), while
Lucas Linder took 25th (51.71s), and
Kane McCrory took 44th (54.68).
