INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. ---The No. 22 Bethel Pilots (4-2, 2-2) dropped a 6-1 battle to the No. 11 Marian University Knights (9-6, 6-0) on Wednesday in Crossroads League play.
In doubles,
Paola Lameda Morin and Olesya Krot were leading 5-4 at No. 1 before the match went unfinished.
Daniela Pineros Leon and Farida Elsayed fell at No. 2 (6-2), while
Paula Nadal Hurtado and
Sandy Sharaf were defeated at No. 3 (6-2), giving Marian the doubles point.
In singles play,
Sandy Sharaf earned Bethel's lone point with a three-set comeback win at No. 4 (5-7, 6-3, 6-0).
Olesya Krot dropped her match at No. 1 (6-2, 6-0), and
Paola Lameda Morin fell at No. 2 (6-0, 6-2).
Daniela Pineros Leon was defeated at No. 3 (6-0, 6-1), while Farida Elsayed lost at No. 5 (6-3, 6-1).
Paula Nadal Hurtado closed out singles with a loss at No. 6 (7-5, 6-3).
The Bethel Pilots will look for their next victory on Saturday, April 4 as they face the Huntington University Foresters (7-10, 1-2) at Ward Baker Park. First serve is set for 1 PM.
