Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MISHAWAKA, Ind. ---The Bethel Pilots (6-22, 2-14) fell to the University of Saint Francis Cougars (17-7, 13-3) 14-5 and 12-4 in Monday's doubleheader at Gardner Field.

GAME ONE (5-14 L)

In game one, the Cougars got off to an aggressive start with a 5-0 lead.

Maddy Shaw stepped up to the plate in the bottom of the third with an RBI single, as Alyssa Forys crossed home plate to put the Pilots on the board (1-0).

Freshman Karleigh Friedrich added another base hit to score Blubaum in the third (5-2) before Blubaum scored again in the fifth thanks to a single by Maddy Shaw (5-3). 

The Cougars answered with a formidable nine-run stretch in the seventh inning that the Pilots could not overcome. 

Madelynn Queen and Peyton Reiner each added singles in the bottom of the second to score Blubaum and Shaw (5-14). 


GAME TWO (4-12 L)

The USF Cougars posted four runs off of two hits in the top of the second inning to take the lead in the nightcap (4-0). 

Freshman Faith Douglas made an impact for the Pilots mid-game, scoring off of Morgan Blubaum's base hit in the third (4-1) before showcasing her first homer as a Pilot to decease the Cougars' lead to one (4-3). 

Morgan Blubaum tied it up 4-4 in the bottom of the fifth with aggressive baserunning, stealing home. 

Saint Francis claimed the game in the top of the sixth, scoring eight runs to take the 12-4 victory. 


The Pilots will look for their next victory tomorrow at Gardner Field, when they will face the Grace College Lancers (7-23, 1-15) at 3 and 5 PM.
