MARION, Ind. — The Bethel Pilots finished sixth out of ten teams at the Crossroads League Indoor Championships, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan at Troyer Fieldhouse on Friday and Saturday.
Friday Highlights
The highlight of the day came from
Gabrielle Zeilenga, who captured the Crossroads League title in the long jump. Zeilenga placed first out of 17 competitors with a winning mark of 5.82 meters.
On the track,
Nicanta Smith placed fifth in the 60 meters with a time of 7.90 seconds. In the 60m hurdles,
Tanique Taylor finished seventh (9.36), while
Alyssa Sloop placed eighth (9.45).
From the field,
Alecia Parker placed ninth in the weight throw with a mark of 13.15 meters.
In the Pentathlon,
Brooke Edison put together a steady performance, placing eighth in the high jump (1.45m), seventh in the shot put (8.10m), and eighth in the long jump (4.28m). She finished eighth overall in the Pentathlon.
Lauren Edison also placed in the top 10 in both the Pentathlon Shot Put (10th, 7.39m) and Pentathlon Long Jump (9th, 3.78m).
Saturday Highlights
Zeilenga and Parker continued to excel in the field events, with Zeilenga placing second in the Pole Vault (3.75m) and Parker winning gold in the shot put (13.40m).
Nicanta Smith broke through her preliminary time from day one in the 60m, taking fourth in the finals with a 7.87s showing. Smith also recorded a top-ten finish in the 200m, taking eighth (26.31s).
In the 3000m,
Anna Enderle finished in the top 50% of competition, taking tenth out of 22 runners (10:45.98).
Tanique Taylor crushed her preliminary time, finishing the 60m Hurdles in 9.05 seconds (4th of eight athletes).
