Box Score MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. ---The Bethel Pilots (18-8, 9-7) defeated the Mount Vernon Nazarene Cougars (6-20, 2-14) 85-65 in Ariel Arena on Saturday afternoon.
The game was a part of the Crossroads League's Jesus Won Day, and marks Bethel's third straight win.
Justyce Williams showcased a season high of 23 points, shooting 60% from three (3-5) and 69% from the field (9-13).
Isabel Scales recorded her second double-double of the week with 17 points scored and ten boards (6-4).
Mariah Claywell rounded out the double digit lineup with 15 points, while
Jazmyn Smith led the team in rebounds (13).
Isabella Nooe totaled five assists for the Bethel offense.
In the opening quarter, the Pilots posted a 7-0 run and held the lead for the entirety of the first.
The Cougars saw 11 points scored in the second, compared to Bethel's 26.
Following the half,
Mariah Claywell had an impressive start to the third, with an eight-point stretch. The senior knocked down two layups and two jumpers for a 53-34 Pilot lead.
Freshman
Joslyn Marshall made an impact in the final quarter, adding a layup and a triple (7:21, 70-46), before
Justyce Williams followed suit with her own shot beyond the arc (6:59, 73-46)
Faith Fleetwood put the final Bethel points on the board, splashing a three with the assist from
Allison Metzger (0:38, 85-63).
Bethel claimed the game with a twenty point victory (85-65).

On Wednesday, the Pilots will host the Grace College Lancers for Bethel's Jesus Won Day. Tip-off is set for 5 PM.
