CEDARVILLE, Ohio. ---The Bethel Men's Track and Field Team competed in day one of the NCCAA Men's Indoor Track and Field Championship on Friday evening.

Lamarr Williams highlighted day one men's action in the 60-meter dash prelims, breaking a 12-year-old NCCAA record. Williams finished with a time of 6.77 seconds to pass Kirk Wilson of Shorter University who held the record since 2014. Williams will be joined by teammates
Joshua Harmon and
James Gill who also qualified for tomorrow's final.
Joshua Harmon saw a third place finish in the 60-meter dash prelims with a 6.86 finish, edging out Cedarville's Tanner Muhlenkamp by a tight margin (6.88).
In the 4x200 Relay, Williams, Gill, Harmon, and
Jace Woods showcased a runner-up finish with a time of 1:30, behind first place Malone University (1:29.48)
The 2026 Men's Indoor Track & Field National Championship Heptathlon opened with Bethel University taking the top two spots in the 60-meter dash out of seven competitors.
Christopher Korthuis earned the top mark at 7.09 seconds to earn 851 points and teammate
Jack Jewett tallied a time of 7.36 seconds for 759 points.
The duo continued their fantastic start to the heptathlon, also earning the top two spots in the long jump.
Christopher Korthuis once again won the event with a mark of 6.47 meters and
Jack Jewett earned second with a jump of 6.39 meters. Korthuis would finish second in the shot put to continue to lead the overall standings with 2033 points through three events.
Day one of the heptathlon ended with
Jack Jewett of Bethel University winning the high jump over Nelson University's Hudson Woods on faults at 1.83 meters. The Bethel duo of Christopher Korthuiis (2585) and
Jack Jewett (2541) sat first and second overall in the points standings with over 2500 points.
Bethel's next time out will take place tomorrow for day two of the NCCAA National Indoor Championship, hosted by Cedarville University.
