COLUMBUS, OH. - Bethel Men's Bowling competedat the Ohio Bowling Conference #1 of the season at the Columbus Bowling Palace (Columbus, OH). The format was 3 team games followed directly by 12 Baker games.
The men had a rough start on the 42-foot, 32.7 ml, 1.72 to 1 oil pattern put out for the day. The men started with the first 5-man team game of 884. They found their rhythm in the back half of game 1 and it carried into games 2 and 3 finishing with games of 998 and 1039 on this extremely difficult pattern. After the Team event they found themselves in 4th place (of 19), being paced by 4 guys in the top 30 - of 127 bowlers (3 in the top 15) and an All-Tournament Team finish (5th) for Sophomore Isaac Jenkins (averaging 208). In the 12 Baker style games the Men, fought some quickly changing lane conditions and were 9th in the Baker portion. But held on to finish 5th overall in the tournament.
"The Men really communicated well today. It was truly a team effort. It was good to see how they have grown," said Head Coach Chris Adams. " Finishing 5th in OBC 1, with all of the talented teams in the OBC, It was a good day. With the guys still feeling that they left some pins on the table shows maturity."
