JACKSON, Mich. ---The Bethel Men's Bowling Team competed against Marian, Spring Arbor, Indiana Wesleyan, Huntington, Goshen, Mount Vernon, and Grace College on Friday for the No. 4 Crossroads League Tournament (eighth of eight teams) and the Crossroads League Championships (seventh of eight teams).
About 60 varsity athletes competed in three team games and 12 Baker Games. The top four teams within the baker games were seeded for championship tournament play.Â
Steven Jones led the Pilots with a 501 individual total, across three games, for a 44th place finish.Â
Isaac Lleras (44th, 499 points) and
Kyle Hennings (45th, 494 points) followed close behind while
Ryan Riddle (50th, 471) and
Ian Gradi (54th, 459) rounded out the lineup.Â
Head Coach Christopher Adams shared, "The lanes were difficult; the guys were adjusting all day to stay near the headpin. Â The last Baker block they were able to create a better entry angle by maintaining proper lateral adjustments. Â It showed by combining for 8 strikes in a row finishing with a 244 in the 12th baker game."
Due to weather, last Friday's No. 3 Crossroads League Tournament was rescheduled for this Wednesday, Feb. 4 in Indianapolis, Ind. at 8:30 AM.Â
The event will be hosted by Marian University, and the highest scoring team from all four Crossroads League Tournaments will receive an automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament, set for Mar. 19-21 in Lansing, Mich.Â
