ELKHART, Ind. --- The first day of the 2025 NAIA Swimming and Diving National Championship kicked off with the 3-meter Dive, 200 Medley Relay, and 800 Freestyle Relay at the Elkhart Health and Aquatics Center on Wednesday.
Nick Bohm kicked off the event in the 3-meter Dive with a runner-up finish of 297.65, under the Champion Juan Gonzalez of Keiser, who scored 341.30.
Owen Fleck finished fourth and an NAIA All-American after scoring an 210.35 for the Pilots to score in the second and fourth place finishes.
The 200-yard Medley Relay team of Aixa Recchioni, Makalynn VanEerden, Eliza Nuet, and Jaylyn Harrison finished seventh at 1:46.25.
In the 800-yard Medley Relay, Dominique van Vuure, Josefina Gonzalez, Aixa Recchioni, and Jaylyn Harrison broke the school record for the event with a 7:40.74 at fourth place.
"I'm very pleased with the way it started," said Head Coach Deb Thompson, "getting both women's relays all american and school record in the 800 free relay. The male divers did great, placing second and fourth and all American."Â
Day two of the NAIA National Championship begins at 9 a.m. at the Elkhart Health and Aquatics Center.
