MISHAWAKA, Ind. --- Bethel University will host the second round of the NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship on Sat, Nov. 22 at 2 PM.
The Bethel Pilots are ranked third in the nation and hold a 15-2-3 record following their Crossroads League Tournament win over the Grace College Lancers (1-0).
Bethel will face the Olivet Nazarene University Tigers (19-2-1) on Morey Field on the campus of Bethel University.
The Tigers advanced to Saturday's matchup following their impressive 4-0 sweep over the La Sierra University Golden Eagles in the opening round on Thursday evening.
Olivet Nazarene's Adrian Kang Hagman found the back of the net twice while Nathan Schmidli and Kingsley Kanu each posted one goal.
Earlier this season, the Pilots defeated Olivet Nazarene 2-1 on Alumni Day, with Hagman owning the Tigers' lone goal. Pilots
Eduardo Pedroza and
Lucas Lima each scored to claim the victory.
Julian Vargas Talamantes and
Maarten Schouten are among the top Pilots to watch. Talamantes and Schouten each earned Crossroads League Athlete of the Week recognition, while Talamantes was recently named Crossroads League Player of the Year.
The winner of Saturday's faceoff will head to Orange Beach, Ala. on Dec. 1-8 For the 67th Annual NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship.
