GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. --- The Bethel University men's cross country team secured a 7th-place finish at the Knight Invite, hosted by Calvin University, with a team score of 210 and an average time of 28:17.3.
Leading the Pilots was
Alexavier Arce, who finished 33rd overall with a time of 27:38.0, followed closely by
Aaron Douglass in 35th place, clocking in at 27:39.2.
Elijah Poorman took 38th place with a time of 27:57.0, while
Andrew Golba (50th, 28:54.1) and
Devyn Clements (54th, 29:18.2) rounded out the Pilots' top five. Notably, Clements tied his personal record, and the team posted its best 1-5 and 1-7 gaps of the season.
Gadiel Montiel (63rd, 30:44.2) and
Zachary Stearns (64th, 31:05.4) completed the Pilots' top seven, contributing to their best team time of the season.
Highlights from the meet include season-best performances from
Alexavier Arce,
Elijah Poorman, and
Logan Mann, along with the announcement that Arce and Poorman have individually qualified for NCCAA Nationals. The team had already met the NCCAA qualifying standard, with
Aaron Douglass previously qualifying individually.
Bethel's next meet will take place on October 11 at 2:30 PM at the Bethel University Invitational, held at St. Patrick's County Park in South Bend, Ind.
