MARION, Ind. — The Bethel Pilots Men's Tennis team performed strongly at the ITA Midwest Regional held at Indiana Wesleyan University from Thursday to Saturday.

In the doubles main draw, the duo of Victor Bonsergent and Coll Ballester advanced to the quarterfinals after a solid start. They first defeated Juanes Pinto and Christian Salmeron from Oakland City, followed by a victory over Juan Carrasco and Santiago Sarudiansky from Huntington. However, their journey ended in the quarterfinals against Willem Cilliers and Augustin Sivfi, also from Oakland City.

Another pair, Nicolo Marchetti and Santiago Flores, also reached the quarterfinals. They began their campaign with a win over Fillipo Gailo and Gustavo Guillen dos Santos from Goshen, followed by a victory against Artur Pons and Luis Cordoba from Grace. Unfortunately, they were halted in the quarterfinals by Grace's Pablo Gregoria and Salva Pons.

In singles action, Victor Bonsergent continued to impress, making it to the quarterfinals with victories over Lief Clerc (Indiana Wesleyan), Pablo Lopez Real (Huntington), and Evan Morgan (Lawrence Tech). His run came to an end against Francisco Perez from UNOH.

Meanwhile, Nicolo Marchetti faced a tough challenge in the opening round, falling to Aleksander Ivancevic of Oakland City.

The Pilots demonstrated resilience and skill throughout the tournament, setting a strong foundation for the remainder of the season.

The Pilots continue Crossroads League play with the Mount Vernon Nazarene Cougars in Mount Vernon, Ohio on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 1 p.m.
