MISHAWAKA, Ind. (AP) — The Bethel Pilots Men's Tennis team faced a tough defeat against the Judson Eagles, falling 5-2 at the Eastlake Athletic Club on Thursday.
In doubles matches, the Pilots struggled to find their rhythm. Chadd Kerrigan and Joshua Bavich defeated Santiago Flores and Victor Otin with a score of 6-4. Nicolas Donoso and Cesar Otondo Villafan fought hard but ultimately won against Daniel Jancic and Garrison Miller 7-6(5). Brayden Kopp and Brock Dawson also fell to Isaac Copeland and Jack Hammerschmidt 3-6.
The singles matches saw mixed results for the Pilots. Kerrigan was defeated Flores 7-6(2), 6-1, while Donoso defeated Otin 7-6(5), 4-6, [5-10]. Bavich overpowered Miller 6-2, 6-1. Jancic managed to secure a win against Kopp 6-3, 7-5, [11-9], and Florian Koppitsch triumphed over Hammerschmidt 6-3, 0-6, [10-6]. Francisco Sanchez was defeated by Copeland 2-6, 1-6.
The Pilots final match of the season will be on Saturday, April 19 with a time and location to be determined.
