SYLVANIA, Ohio --- The Bethel Pilots (5-1-1) tied the Lourdes Graywolves (3-0-1) in a non-conference road match-up on Saturday afternoon with a total of 16 shots being kicked by both sides.
Annalise Jung had the first chance for the Pilots in the 25th minute off a corner from
Leena Thomas that was saved by Lourdes' Emmy Roger.
Thalyta Martins was close to hitting the tiebreaker in the 32nd minute but was knocked away by Roger.
With minutes to go in regulation,
Lauren Gatewood defended the clean sheet when the Graywolves' Kayla Dillinger swung on frame but ultimately the tie would sustain and give the Pilots their first tie of the season. Bethel now sits 2-4-2 against Lourdes in the all-time series and 2-1-2 at Morey Field.
