MISHAWAKA, Ind. --- The Bethel Pilots (8-37, 4-28) faced Mount Vernon Nazarene University (23-17, 16-12) Saturday afternoon and fell 5-1 in game one and 7-1 in game two.
GAME 1
Mount Vernon controlled game one, scoring one in the second inning, three in the sixth, and one in the seventh.
Kate Cooper batted in Bethel's run as she reached on a fielder's choice, and Maggie Robbins made it home to make the score 5-1.
Ryann Norris pitched seven innings with ten hits, two walks, and four strikeouts on 121 pitches.
Robbins, Meghan Younger, and Hannah Goldsborough each had one recorded hit.
GAME 2
Bethel was under pressure in game two, and MVNU put up multiple runs in the third.
A Mount Vernon home run in the sixth put the Cougars up 7-0, but Harmony Looney homered just after in the seventh to make the final score 7-1.
Younger, Emily Kidwell, Looney, Kate Cooper, Robbins, and Alyssa Forys stated one hit.
Harmony Looney pitched seven innings with ten hits, three walks, and five strikeouts on 111 pitches.
NEXT TIME OUT
The Pilots will be on the road on April 23rd as they take on Huntington University at 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
