MISHAWAKA, Ind. --- On a windy Saturday afternoon, the Bethel Pilots (5-14, 1-4) were swept by the Taylor Trojans (11-9, 3-2) at Gardner Field.
GAME 1
Starter Harmony Looney (0-7) threw three straight empty frames until the top of the fourth when the Trojans scored on an error by the first baseman and broke the silence 1-0.
Taylor followed with another run in the fifth, a two-RBI single to left, growing their lead to 3-0. In the top of the sixth, a single to the left and a two-run double to the left sealed a 6-0 win for the Trojans.
GAME 2
Bethel started the scoring early in the first when Alyssa Forys got caught stealing at second, but Meghan Younger, at third, went home and scored.
TU retaliated with seven runs in the top of the second half, two BU errors, and three hits.
Bethel grabbed their second run in the 2nd when Hannah Goldsborough reached first by an error, and Maggie Robbins went home to score.
TU then scored frequently in the remaining innings and won 14-2 in game two.
Leeah Wade had three strikeouts, eight walks, and 11 hits.
NEXT TIME OUT
The Pilots will travel to Winona Lake, Ind., to take on Grace College on March 19. The first pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
