MISHAWAKA, Ind. --- The Bethel Men's Volleyball unit (4-5, 0-5) competed in another WHAC matchup vs. Siena Heights (5-6, 3-4) but couldn't hold off the Saints as the Pilots lost 3-2 Saturday afternoon.
Andre Parra led the team with 16 kills, four digs, and a career-high two aces, with Arthur Barreto right behind him with 14 kills and eight digs; Tiago Silva also had a positive night, recording a career-high 12 kills and six block assists.
McGwire Eigenrauch led the team with a career-high 42 assists and tacked on four block assists.
The Saints started the first set with a 9-2 run, which set the tone for the rest of the set as they won 25-21. Bethel made a pushback but was unable to claw back.
The second set was back and forth until Bethel took a 5-1 run, went up 22-15, and secured the second set with a 25-20 win.
The third set had a couple of lead changes as it was anyone's game at 19 apiece. Siena Heights found their points from a couple of kills, an Ace, and a Bethel service error.
The Pilots had something to say about the fourth set as they took a 10-4 advantage with Ben Ritzema's ace and kills from Andre Parra and Niko Apostolou. The Saints made it a fight, but Bethel took another set at 26-24 to even the score at 2-2.
The fifth set was a back-and-forth until the score was 6-6 when Siena Heights went on a 9-1 run to secure a win against the Pilots.

Bethel will be home on Feb. 27, taking on the NAIA 13th-ranked Cornerstone Golden Eagles (Mich.) at 7:00 p.m. on the Bethel Sports Network in conjunction with the Regional Radio Sports Network for a 6:45 p.m. pregame show.
