MISHAWAKA, Ind. --- The Bethel Men's Volleyball team (4-6, 0-6) fell to #13 Cornerstone University (10-0, 6-0) in four sets in a tough WHAC conference matchup.
The Pilots took Cornerstone by surprise in the first set and gained a five-point lead at 15-10 with a kill by Andre Parra. Bethel continued their dominance in the first set, maintained a steady lead, and won 25-19 to go up 1-0 against #13.
Bethel held their own in the second for the majority of the set as they were only down by three (17-14). Cornerstone took an 8-2 run to finish the set and tied it at 1-1.
Cornerstone led and controlled the third set, but the Pilots were only down by three or four in most of the set. Cornerstone took a lead late in the set and won 25-17.
The fourth set mimicked the second as Cornerstone took the final set 25-16 and won the match 3-1 in Goodman.
Arthur Barreto led the team with 13 kills with two service aces.
McGwire Eigenrauch recorded 36 assists and one kill during the contest.
