NOTRE DAME, Ind. --- Freshman sprinter Lamarr Williams left his first collegiate meet with two NCCAA National Championship qualifying marks in the 60-meter and the 200-meter at the Blue and Gold Invite, hosted by the University of Notre Dame's Guglielmino Athletics Complex on Friday along with 14 NCCAA Qualifying marks.
Williams took third in the 60-meter-dash with a time of 6.85, then took second in the 200-meter with a 22.09.
Brennen Bargesser also qualified in two events, including the 60-meter at 7.05, finishing in 19th, and the 200-meter, finishing sixth with a 22.48. Joshua Harmon was the third Pilot to qualify in two events; he finished seventh in the 200-meter with a 22.49 and 12th in the 60-meter at 7.05.
Other qualifying times in the 60-meter includeÂ
Marcus Smith in 20th with a 7.15 and
Trevor Smith in 21st at 7.17. Bethel secured the third, 12th, 19th, 20th, and 21st spots in the event.
The rest of the qualifiers came in the 200-meter event (eight in total), with
Trevor Smith, the fourth to qualify in two events, in ninth with a 22.67,
Caleb McNeal in 11th at 22.95, Phillip Harris in 15th at 23.17,
Marcus Smith (the fifth to qualify in two events) in 16th at 23.10 and Lucas Linder in 17th at 23.19.
The Pilots continue the season with the Bob Eubanks Open, hosted by NCAA Division II Grand Valley State at The Kelly Family Sports Center on Saturday, Jan. 18.
