KOKOMO, Ind. --- The Bethel Pilots (8-0) collected seven sweeps on the second day of the IU Kokomo Invite with a 3-0 win over the RV IU Kokomo Cougars (2-1) and the IU East Red Wolves (3-1).
This is the first time in the program's recorded history the Pilots went 8-0 to start the season under first-year head coach Robert Frost, who just established his system about a month ago.
VS RV IU KOKOMO
Maddy Payne and Isabelle Greene swung 10 kills in the matinee of the tournament doubleheader, with freshman Taylor Delp the next most kills with six.
Haley Biedenbach has settled into the setter role nicely, starting the day with 31 assists in her freshman season.
VS IU EAST
Biedenbach continued to do well in the nightcap of day two with 21 assists along with seven digs for the Pilots.
Maddy Payne, Isabelle Greene, and Michaela Whitaker hit six kills each in the sweep of the Red Wolves, and Rachel Vendl collected 12 digs.
NEXT TIME OUT
Bethel returns home to the Gates Gymnasium for the Liz Hossler Labor Day Classic on Sept. 1-2, where the Pilots will face IU South Bend, the University of Michigan – Dearborn and Cumberland University (Tenn.).
