KOKOMO, Ind. --- The Bethel Pilots (6-0) swept both the Cornerstone Golden Eagles (0-2) and the RV Saint Xavier Cougars (0-2) in a successful day one of the IU Kokomo Invite.
VS CORNERSTONE
Cheyanne Seymour had another great match with 12 kills and 11 digs, which marks her fourth time this season, hitting 10+ kills and 10+ digs for the fourth time.
Rachel Vendl and Michaela Whitaker led the defensive effort with 11 digs each; Vendl amassed 10+ digs for the second straight time after her 20 digs against UNOH.
Bethel leads the overall series over the Golden Eagles 7-3 since their first match in Oct. of 2006.
VS SAINT XAVIER (Ill.)
Seymour continued to hit well in the nightcap with another 11 kills and 10 digs over the Cougars. Maddy Payne and Vendl collected 11 digs for the Pilots.
Bethel won the first two sets with the lowest point margin of the season, keeping the Cougars to only 14 points in each respective set.
The Pilots are now 7-2 in the overall series and have swept Saint Xavier (Ill.) for the second straight time, the last match happening on Aug. 25, 2021.

The Pilots take on RV IU Kokomo at noon and IU East at 2 p.m. in Kokomo, Ind., for day two of the IU Kokomo Invite on Aug. 26 at the Student Activities and Events Center.
