Indianapolis, Ind. --- The Bethel University Women's Lacrosse team (7-9, 4-5) battled Marian University (13-4, 7-2) in the WHAC Tournament Quarterfinals but couldn't contain the Knights as they lost 17-9. 

The Pilots started slow in the first quarter, falling behind 3-0 in the first 10 minutes. Two Bethel goals, one from Alyssa Lundy and one from Jenna Crockett made the game 4-2 at the end of quarter number one. 

Marian outscored the Pilots in the second quarter 4-1. Isabell Gerbrand got the lone goal in the second at 5:40 to make the game 8-3. 

In the third quarter, the Pilots made a strong run as they scored five goals, bringing the game to 14-8. Gerbrand added another goal, followed by Alyssa Lundy, Kayla Tirado, Gerbrand, and Serenity Kretschmer. 

Alyssa Lundy grabbed the last goal of the season at 1:21 left in the match as the Knights came away with the 17-9 victory over the Pilots. 

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE  

• Samantha Swope had nine saves. 
• Marian led in shots during the game (33-16).  
• Isabell Gerbrand had three goals and one assist. 

NEXT TIME OUT  

The Pilots have concluded the 2023 season and will return next Spring.
