Palos Heights, Ill. --- The Bethel University Softball squad (0-4) had a tough two game stretch against Trinity Christian Trolls (2-0) Wednesday afternoon on the road after they lost the first game 4-0 and the second 3-2 in 12 innings.
  
GAME 1
The game's action started in the bottom of the second when Trinity Christian's Jordan Jones hit a single, then slapped a double, which scored Erianna Claudio to give the Trolls a 1-0 lead.
Trinity Christian struck again in the third frame with a SAC fly to center to score the Trolls' Charlie Sartoris, which gave them another insurance run 2-0.
TCC scored twice in the sixth with an RBI single to left field by Claudio and Myleigh Halmon scored on an aggressive play from the Pilots which made the score 4-0 TCC.
Marrissa Navarrete and Alyssa Forys each recorded a hit during the first game.
Hannah Frady pitched a complete game allowing six hits, four runs, two walks, and struckout two.
 

GAME 2
Things started Bethel's way as Emmie Pugh hit an RBI single to right-center to let Alyssa Forys score in the top of the first inning. Trinity bounced right back as they found a run of their own off a double by Giulia Cianfriglia to tie the game at 1-1.
Ryann Norris answered back with a home run to right center to give the Pilots a 2-1 lead.
The Pilots held the one run lead until the seventh inning where Sartoris doubled to score Hailey Jurasz, but was thrown out at third by Meghan Younger.
Extra innings came and both teams went back and forth for some time until in bottom of the twelfth inning when TCC walked it off with a single to left field and scored Sartoris to sweep the doubleheader.
Ryann Norris pitched a complete game in 11.2 innings, letting up 11 hits, three runs, five hits and walked five batters and was credited with the loss.
 
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE

• The Pilots collected 11 hits between both games and let up 17 to the Trolls.
• Both starting pitchers threw complete games, Norris threw 20 fly outs in game two

 
NEXT TIME OUT
 
Bethel will travel to Gilbert, Arizona to play a double-header with Park University -Gilbert on Feb. 25 at 7:00 p.m before playing in the Tucson Invitational on Mar. 1-3.
