Pentecost and Fleming Highlight day one of Crossroads League Indoor Championship

Marion, Ind. --- After day one of the Crossroads League Indoor Championship, Bethel Men's Track and Field sits in tenth place after a few close chances to score, and the Women's team is tied for fifth with Huntington University.

DAY 1 HIGHLIGHTS
Elisha Fleming is currently in the lead for the Heptathlon with a final score of 2738 points. Fleming started the day with a 7.40 time in the 60-meter dash and finished in second place under Mount Vernon Nazarene's Jaden Haldeman. The second event was the Long Jump, where Fleming hit a mark of 6.36 meters, which also put him in second place.

Fleming got over the hump with a first-place finish in the Shot Put after throwing for 11.53 meters and the High Jump with a 1.94-meter mark.

Richard Corbitt started the 60-meter dash strong for the Pilots by placing second in the second heat and qualifying for the finals tomorrow.

Cailyn Pentecost won the Pentathlon for the women's team with a total of 3245 points. Pentecost finished second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.69, led the High Jump with a height of 1.54 meters, led the shot put with an impressive throw of 11.73 meters, finished first in the long Jump at 5.12 meters, and took second in the 800-meter dash to round out her performance.

Madison Kauffman scored for the Pilots with a third-place finish by throwing 15.91 meters.
