MISHAWAKA, Ind. --- Bethel University Women's Basketball team (2-6, 0-2) couldn't hold off Huntington University (3-6, 1-1) in a highly contested Crossroads League matchup Wednesday night. 
The Pilots earned a lead in the first quarter, with Nyla Asad, Maiah Shelton, and Mariah Claywell knocking down shots. A Kallie Harrison layup at 0:41 put the Pilots up 13-9 late in the first quarter. 
The second quarter was back and forth as Huntington took a three-point lead but was gained back by the Pilots with more Claywell, Shelton, and Shayla Alexander shots, putting them up 22-21 at the half. 
Bethel started hot in the third quarter with a Nyla Asad three-pointer followed by a Harrison and Shelton shot (31-24). Huntington made a comeback late in the third and took the lead over the Pilots 47-43. 
A heavily contested fourth quarter went the way of the Foresters until Harrison hit a big three at 5:43, and Claywell added another layup (52-52). 
The Pilots missed a couple of crucial free throws and a turnover at 0:46 left in the game, leading to a Huntington layup late. Huntington would hold the ball and win in Gates 62-58 after a hard-fought match by both Crossroads League teams. 
Nyla Asad scored a season-high with 17 points and seven rebounds. Mariah Claywell earned 15 points and two steals.

The Pilots will travel to Marion, Ind., to take on Indiana Wesleyan University on Dec. 2nd at 1:00 p.m.
