Mishawaka, Ind. --- The Bethel Pilots started the Mishawaka bracket strong, defeating the William Penn Statesmen 3-1 on a cold Thursday afternoon.
Senior Anu Alemanji scored the longest goal of the season from outside the box in the 41st minute.
In the second half, sophomore Andres Maza grew the lead for the Pilots' second goal in the 61st minute, with Piero Sabroso capping off the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 80th minute.
The Pilots outshot the Statesmen 12-9, and senior Finn Popescu ended the night with two saves and only one goal allowed.
The Pilots will take on NAIA 23rd-ranked Hastings College, who upset 17th-ranked Northwestern Ohio 2-1 after a long snow delay.
