Megan Smalley-Hastings heads into her second year with Bethel softball with an overall record of 27-13.

Hastings, a 2007 graduate of Olivet Nazarene University, completed her master's degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Springfield College in Massachusetts before heading back to her alma mater to join the Tiger’s coaching staff. As a player at ONU, Hastings helped guide the Tigers to 178 total wins, including a CCAC Tournament Championship in 2005 and a CCAC Regular Season Championship in 2007. Additionally in 2006, her team took claim to the NCCAA National Tournament Championship. Her freshman year (2004) was her best on the mound, as Hastings put together a season pitching record of 13-2 with a 2.69 ERA. She was able to post a perfect game against University of Illinois-Springfield in that same year. From the plate, Hastings recorded her best season in 2007, where she posted a batting average of .303 with four homeruns and 35 RBI's. As a student at ONU, Smalley was just as successful in the classroom, as she was a two-time NAIA, NCCAA and NFCA Scholar Athlete (2006 & 2007).
