COACHING PHILOSOPHY / WHY DO YOU COACH?

  • I believe it is important to not over complicate things and communicate clearly to your guys. Every team is different, and every player is different. Year to year all coaches’ philosophies change on what gives their team the best chance to win with that particular year’s personnel. Being an assistant coach, it is my job to pass along and enforce the philosophy of our heaed coach, and I take great pride in that. I believe th absolute most important thing in coaching is relationships. Having a great relationship with each individual player, so that I know how to coach them and get the most out of them both on and off the floor. Relationship with the staff is key, so we are all on the same page in what we are trying to do. Lastly, relationships with the administration and supporters are extremely important as well.
