Bethel struck early, as Diego Cadabon opened the scoring in the 6th minute off a Noe Ferreira and Luca Canto assist to make it 1-0. Northwestern Ohio answered before the half, with Ryan Yates leveling the match at 1-1 in the 40th minute off a Micah Williams assist. The hosts took the lead for good in the 67th minute when Williams found the net himself to make it 2-1, then added an insurance goal in the 81st minute through Jack Kunosson (assist: Raul Oliu) to close it out at 3-1. The match turned physical down the stretch, with Northwestern Ohio's Ognjen Stanic sent off in the 79th minute and Bethel's Esteban Mancilla following with a red card of his own in the 82nd. Bethel finished with a 15-9 shot advantage despite the loss.
